deceased parents

My mom and dad have passed away, how do I word invitations and also do you have any ideas on how to acknowledge them on the day of the wedding? Thanks!

Wording the invitations can be tricky. If having their names on them means that much to you there certainly are options. Traditionally, the people paying for the wedding (the hosts) put their names on the invites.

You could say something like: From the heavens above The Late Mr. and Mrs. Lastname will be shining their light on their daughter Cecil as she gets married to Groom, on etc...

As far as the ceremony: you can have a special prayer for them read, you could acknowledge them in your program, dedicate the unity candle lighting to them etc...

Let me know if you'd like more ideas, I'm happy to help in anyway I can. My best, Laura --LA Productions (631)473-0271 or [email protected]

Re: deceased parents

Dear Cecil,
I just worked this out for a bride for an upcoming wedding I am playing. I will be dedicating a song in memory of the deceased parents at the wedding reception and inviting the guests to join in - in honor and remembrance of the parents.
The bride and groom will start off the special song and then I will invite all the guests to join in. At another wedding I am providing a string quartet to play for the ceremony and the bride is dedicating a special classical selection in memory of her parents at the candle lighting. The dedication can be done tastefully without causing unnecessary sorrow at the wedding. I hope this helps you.
