DJ with a conscience

DJ with a conscience

We are looking for a DJ who will pay songs from a list we have put together. No Glitz, no grandstanding. Just play music we want to hear. And, oh yea, don't rob us. Anything over $600 for a 5 hour party is highway robbery and you know it. Any takers? One clause, you need 1 mill in liability insurance.

DJ with a conscience

I am a DJ/MC with a 'conscience' and that is why I would not be interested in 'taking' your offer as you have presented it. The value of my personalized, premium services and the services of many of my distinguished colleagues in this industry are worth far more. Perhaps you have had a less than spectacular experience with a DJ? A true professional will be sensitive to and accomodate all of your MC and musical needs. 'Glitz' is not an ingredient appropriate for all events and certainly I would agree that 'grandstanding' is less desirable. I`d welcome the opportunity to talk with you about your requirements but it would be important for you to enter the conversation with an open mind, putting aside all pre-conceived notions about a typical 'DJ' and the services provided. You will probably find that the major 'players' in our industry will cost you in the $1,200 to $2,500 range. Some may be worth it and some may not, but allow yourself the opportunity to be convinced. A poor choice of entertainment will cloud your most memorable day. You deserve a wonderful wedding celebration! Good luck with your planning.

Regards,

Michael

DJ with a conscience

I feel you`ve either had bad experiences with DJs or just don`t understand the difference between amateurs and pros. I`m not saying that bad or overpriced DJs don`t exist. However, for $600 or less it will be hard to find a professional who will bring:
years of experience to handle unforeseen circumstances
adequate insurance for your needs
state-of-the-art equipment (maintained in a proper manner)
Extra contingency equipment (another form of insurance)
enough paid help to make things run smoothly
Up-to-date computerized library of thousands of potential requests
etc, - well you get my point.
These things are not free. As in any business, costs must be passed on. If this is not important to you and price is the bottom line, then you might get lucky or you might get what you pay for. Usually, a wedding day is too important to take such a risk.
Having said all that, not all DJs are alike either. There are bargains to be discovered depending on you needs (we might even have one for you). But please don`t refer to such prices as robbery until you understand all the hidden benefits you may be receiving. After that, be my guest.
All the best in your pursuits, and feel free to contact us of more information,
