Does anyone know of any DJ that sends out demo tapes? I`m looking for someone that won`t be too overbearing, and instead just have someone to play music. It would be much easier for us to view tapes, rather than setting up appts.
Thanks!

Be careful of only booking a dj from a demo tape sent. You want to meet at the office. This will give you a good feel for the company - are they brand new - are they reputable- do they have a proven track record. The office surroundings will give you an idea of whether or not they have been successful. Many times tapes are sent because there is no office - this is something to be careful of.This is a sign of the 'weekend warrior' - the part time performer. Also in case of 'Murphy's Law' will there be a back up DJ just in case of any last minute illness, emergency ? The last thing you need to find out the day of your wedding is that your DJ is sick and there is no back up. These are some of the reasons why it makes sense to always go with a company with a proven track record. Ask for recommendations from prior clients. Last - never sign a contract that requires full payment prior to the event. This is for your protection in case of sudden problems. I hope this was of help to you.Visit my editorial on Budgeting For Wedding Music at http://www.stanwiest.com/wedding_music_budgeting2.htm for additional ideas. A video is basically a reflection of one event, possibly lending a view to the personal tastes of a particular bride and groom. As many of us provide unique, personalized events, a video may not provide an accurate picture of all that a provider may offer. I recommend a personal interview with the individual that will be performing at your event. Many entertainment companies will not provide this option. Insist on it!
