Ask your photographer if he can send your album to his album maker so they can stamp your names and date on cover in gold or silver foil. I think this is what you mean by engraving.

i doubt they can, they would charge me a fortune since they charge for every little thing. and the woman didnt' mention that when i said that the album wasn't engraved when i went to pick it up.

It's very standard to have your album stamped. All my albums include stamping.
Such as: Mary and Michael July 11, 2007
You should ask them to stamp the album for you. It's best that their album maker stamp the album because they would be responsible in case the stamping was flawed. I don't know your specifics, but it's hard to imagine any photographer passing up a chance to generate some goodwill with a bride. Just ask your photographer to take care of it for you -- there's nothing to loose by asking. Good luck.
Here's a place in NYC that makes portfolios for commercial advertising photographers:
The House of Portfolios Co. Inc. 52 West 21st Street New York, N.Y. 10010 USA
I believe both places will do retail work. Wedding album makers will only work wholesale directly with photographers -- which is why I've recommended the above 2 places. You should be able to get the stamping done for around $30.

Oh, I know which album you have. You can always contact brewer-cantelmo and mail the album to them for stamping. Just send it priority insured.

If you brought your album back to the photographer for stamping he/she would be putting it in the mail. You could always use Fed Ex.
