Florist Help

I am getting married next April '04. When should I start looking at florists? I would like to know so I can start saving money now for flowers. I know that I would like to have Lavender roses as well as white or cream for centerpieces and bouquets. Would roses be really $$ ? I would apppreciate any info on prices thanks
