Florist with corp. logo

i once had a bad experience with a florist that was also affiliated with a corporate company- I chose a corsage I wanted out of a book (company published book- not pictures) and was told that was exactly what I would get. It was no where near that - and I was devastated by that and how they treated me when I asked why it wasn't like the picture.

How can I prevent this from happening with my wedding day flowers??

I was on Martha Stewart's Sirius satellite radio just this week speaking about this very issue. You should always look at a florist's actual photo portfolio of weddings that they have done to see what their work actually looks like; always hire a wedding florist who specializes in weddings (all florists do not do the same type of work, as weddings and funerals need completely different types of arrangements, all distinct!). Don't be afraid to ask your florist about their experience and training, and most importantly, make sure that you get along with each other personally. You want someone that you trust and feel comfortable speaking to and 'living with' for the duration of your planning. Lastly, make sure that they are designing your vision and not their own--the wedding should be all about your colors, your style and your taste, and reflect an environment that is a comfortable surrounding for you and your fiance on your wedding day. Good luck, and feel free to call me if you have any further questions.
