HM questions . . .

I have heard from some people that if we plan on going to Cabo San Lucas, or Mexico at all for that matter, that we are better off not going to an all-inclusive resort- that it is not worth it. I am wondering what your take is on this and if you can suggest some hotels that might be good choices in Cabo San Lucas (affordable, yet luxurious.) We are really not used to planning a trip that is NOT all-inclusive, so any advice in this area is greatly appreciated. We really did not want to spend more than $5,000-6000 (including spending money) for a 10-11 day trip. We wanted to stay in an ocean view suite as well. I am wondering if this is feasible on our budget without going all-inclusive (like I said, some people have said it is it is equally affordable or cheaper to go to Mexico and not go all-inclusive.) Thanks for your help!!!!
