I'm getting married June 19, 2004 and I booked my reception at the Huntington Townhouse, well now all I keep hearing are how awful everything at this place is. I'm soooo upset and I have no idea what to do. Do I back out and loose the money that we put down? Do I start looking into other halls? I'm so cofused and need somebody to help me please!

Re: Huntington Townhouse
Think about the reasons that you had for booking the Huntington Towne House in the first place. Were you at an event there and were impressed with the service? Did you attend a tasting and were satisfied with the results? Whatever the reason, you felt comfortable at the time making a decision that seemed 'right.' I think that it is quite normal for all of us to second-guess our choices or decisions at various times. Chances are that things will go fine just as you originally anticipated. With that said, if you are concerned, revisit your decision and check the place out again. If you have not attended a tasting, do so. Ask more questions. If, after checking things out again, you still lack confidence in your decision, you may wish to cut your losses at this point and move on. This may spare your from the anxiety that may linger right up to your wedding date, a situation which is not desirable at a time that should be filled with joy and excitement. I know that you would probably prefer to hear a review of the Huntington Towne House as a fabulous place to have a wedding. As I haven't had any recent experiences there, I cannot provide an opinion. Just remember too that opinions are just that, subjective sources of information until you experience the event for yourself. If you've done your research, don't worry, if not, get busy and enjoy the planning!

Re: Huntington Townhouse
Before you get yourself upset-go to the Town House and talk to them about your concerns and the reasons for them. Contact Ellen Rose-she is the banquet manager. Tell her why you are upset and ask her what she can do to alleviate your worries. I agree with Michael that you should attend a tasting. I am sure you can arrange this with Ellen Rose. Always take any second hand information with a grain of salt. Rather than listen to possible rumors- go to the source and talk to them directly. This is the only way you will resolve the situation to your satisfaction. I am not recommended by or associated with the Town House in any way-this is totally unbiased advise-this is strictly the type of advise I would give to a bride regarding any catering location.
