My wedding is 10/3/04. When should I start to look for invitations, favors and placecard holders? How long does it usually take these things to come in? Thank you.

Re: I have an invitation question?
Hi LIPrincess
The rule of thumb on invitations is between 4-6 months prior to the wedding. I would tend to say more towards the 6 months to really allow yourself adequate time because they will still have to be assembled, addressed (whether by you or a calligrapher) weighed, stamped etc. Why not get it done faster so you can check one more thing off your list and sit back and enjoy the time rather than be rushed.
I have also sent you some information so please check your FM.
Hope this helps - Happy planning!

Re: I have an invitation question?
I agree with Kathy--6 months is fine. Also, with regard to favors, in most cases, you can select what you want, have them put on hold, and than clarify your quantity as you get closer to the wedding date and receive your responses.
When you ready, please give me a call and I would happy to spend time with you looking through albums, and picking the perfect invitation for your affair!
Good luck in all your planning!

Hi,
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
Both Kathy and Cathy gave you great advise!
You can also start looking on line for invitations now to get an idea of what you like. Our web site allows you to input your wedding information and give you an online pic of exactly how the invitation will look!
Many of my brides pick out favors and accessories early and make payments to ease the budget.
