My ceremony and reception are in the same place. Do I include reception to follow on the invites? If I leave it out and just say the time don't people know the recepion is after? Thanks!!

Re: Invitation Wording
You are getting married 3 days before me! We are getting married at the same place as our reception too so on the invite it says you are invited to the wedding of Gary and Stacey at blah blah blah and then at the bottom, I have Reception immediately following ceremony.
Hope this helps!

Re: Invitation Wording
Hi,
You can either have 'Reception Immediately following Ceremony' printed on your invitations or you can leave it off the invitations and put it on the enclosure card. Your enclosure card can say something like this: 'Dinner and Dancing Immediately following Ceremony'
Hi Novembergirl; I often suggest to my brides to put 'Celebration/Reception immediately following' at the bottom of the invitation card itself instead of having a seperate reception card. I think it flows better and then you have all your information in one place since your guests will only be going to one venue. It also will make your invitation cost a bit less expensive by eliminating the reception card.

Re: Invitation Wording
I agree with Favorite Things that the reception info. should be placed on the invitation. 'Reception immediately following' or 'Reception to follow' are appropriate, and sometimes, I recommend to my customers, if space allows, to add an extra space after the last line of copy, then put the reception information.
i.e.
(last two lines) Woodbury Country Club Woodbury, New York
Reception to follow
Good Luck in all your planning!

Re: Invitation Wording
Thanks for the advice but I really wasn't thinking about using a reception card at all. I planned to either write 'reception to follow' on the invitations or write nothing at all and assume people know the reception is following. I have a few invitations from some weddings I've been to recently and nobody has written reception to follow when the ceremony and reception have been in the same place. I am curious what your customers have done. Thanks!

Re: Invitation Wording
Include 'reception to follow' since if you don't include it many people may assume they are not invited to the reception.

Re: Invitation Wording
Hi Novembergirl; I always advise my brides to make their invitation as clear and concise as possible so there isn't any confusion. You also do not want to leave your plans open to interpretation by your guests. I personally feel it is best to add in the last line stating that you are having a reception and it will follow the ceremony.

Re: Invitation Wording
Hi Novembergirl,
I agree with the above posts. All of my clients have either written 'Reception Immediately following ceremony' on their invitations or have used the enclosure card. I think this way there won't be any confusion.
