When do I need to start looking for and ordering invitations? How long do they usually take to come in? I am getting married August 1 and want to send them out mid-May. Thanks!!

Re: Invitations
Hi Mrswask,
The usual time frame to order invitations is 4-6 months prior to the wedding. I usually tell my brides to lean more towards the 6 month mark. This way you are not rushed.
The invitation is really the one item that sets the tone of your wedding so you want it to be PERFECT. You want to put careful thought into the one you choose. It takes time to pick one out, then it also takes time to think of the appropriate wording (I usually help my brides choose just the right words for their particular need whether it be because of divorced parents, a deceased parent etc). Then it can take approximately 1-3 weeks to get the invitations back. Now you must allow time to have them assembled and the calligraphy done. Trust me this is not something that should be rushed so please allow yourself at least 6 months.
I hope this helps - Happy planning! Kathy Follow Your Heart

Re: Invitations
I agree six months is a good time to decide and get the order started. Mid-May is the right time to send them out.
If you would like to come to the shop and view the albums, please give me a call and we can make an appt.-eves and weekends are fine!
Good Luck in all your planning!

Re: Invitations
6-months ahead of the big day is perfect. You really don't want to rush into this. Looking at invitations can seem overwhelming. There are lots of books out there and lots of things to consider- what style are you interested in- traditional, contemporary... do you want it custom made... what colors... do you want layers, etc...
The more time you have, the more enjoyable the process will be for you.
I'd suggest start looking around online now, get an idea of what it is that you like and what you don't like. This when when you see 'the one' you'll know it.
Good luck in your search. If you'd like more info, or would like to set up an appointment (when you're ready) just call email or FM me. I'm happy to help. Thanks, Laura--LA Productions [email protected]
