Now is the right time to start your vendor bookings for 2004 so that you can arrange for exactly the type of wedding that meets your requirements as well as your budget. Many clients who are looking for vendors for 2003 are finding many dates totally filled and unavailable. The first thing you should do is book the reception location and ceremony location.Make sure you coordinate with both the church or ceremony location and the reception hall.Leave enough time in between for pictures so your photographer is not rushed. The next step is to secure either band or dj.
If you are looking for any specialty entertainment -that should also be arranged far in advance.Specialty entertainments include Steel Drums, Mariachi Band, Flamenco Guitar, Classical Guitar, String Quartet, Chamber Ensembles, Salsa Band, Greek Performers on Bouzouki and Greek Vocalists, Sitar and Tabla, Bagpipe, Strolling Violins etc. If you need help selecting specialty entertainment please visit my website http://www.stanwiest.com. Half way down the page is a section devoted to specialty entertainment. There is an extensive list - and many are highlighted to click onto-and you are taken to a picture and more information on the specific entertainment. Please feel free to call me at (631) 754-0594 with any questions.
I hope this was of help and answered your question.

Cw0904,

The search has begun ! Now is about the time you want to begin all of your research. First the basics, Reception location, & ceremony location wether church or other. Once you get that down , next is Entertainment, Flowers, Video etc. For all of these vendors now is a good time. You will have ample time to shop around , visit showcases, and do your research on what you really want without the pressure of making a decision based on time contraints.
The better vendors will book early, and dates for 2004 are beginning to filter in.
Hope this has been of some help !
Good luck with all your planning, HAVE FUN !

Hello Wanda,
Now is the time to start booking your vendors. It can never be too early when it comes to the wedding industry. The further you book in advance the better prices you will get. Another benefit is you will have more choices of wedding services available to you.
It would be my pleasure to assist you in planning your honeymoon when you are ready to do so. Feel free to email me @ [email protected] or you can call me @ 631-205-5599.

I ditto all of the above posts.

Booking early gets you who you want, what you want at the price you want! 2 years from now those prices will go up! You are locked in at that 2002 price.

We just shot a wedding at Oheka Castle that we booked in the summer of 2000. Their wedding was last weekend. When we looked at the prices we were upset but............nothing we could do! The bride was way ahead of the game and booked all her vendors 2 yrs. in advance.

So is it too early............NEVER!

Good Luck!

Absolutelt to what has been said and for me there is also the comfort level to take into consideration. Do you need to have the details done to not stress?
Then as with everything you should do things the best way for you and your beloved to do them. Waiting has advantages at times as does planning but IMO you should do this as it feels right. (I'm big on quality of life issues)

Thank you all for your responses. I have already booked the hall and church. At this point in time are any of you NOT booked for 3/5/2004. I would need the videographer to begin at my home around 2:00 pm and also the photographer.

I think you should do your 'research' since you do have ample time. Go see a band or DJ live if you can, ask to see pictures and videos from photographers as well as florists. There is no reason you shouldn't be completely satisfied with your choices. You may even have time to ask around and get feedback from other brides, good experiences are the best advertising! Once all of your plans are in the works, you can actually relax and enjoy your wedding plans! Good luck to you and I hope you'll check out the videos on our website.
