Looking for Ceremony Musicians and Cocktail Hour Musicians

I would love to have a string trio for the ceremony but I'm on a budget so I'm very open to suggestions and different options. I already know I can get a very good harpist for a very reasonable fee so would it be possible to maybe just get a single violinist to play with her? Please FM me quotes or any info you can provide!

Also, I really want live music for the cocktail hour and am also looking for a reasonable ensemble that will play jazz.

Thanks!

Re: Looking for Ceremony Musicians and Cocktail Hour Musicians

I have a great jazz ensemble at my office-available as one, two or three pieces for a cocktail hour. I have them on CD. As one performer you can have a great jazz keyboardist. Two pieces are keyboard and sax or keyboard and bass. I can supply harp and violin - I do not supply violinists to perform with a harpist they are not familiar with.

Re: Looking for Ceremony Musicians and Cocktail Hour Musicians

Greetings,

We perform as a jazz trio (flute, guitar, bass) or a jazz quartet (flute, guitar, bass and drums).

You can hear and see us live around New York -- we're performing as a quartet this Sunday, April 25 at Pier 26 in TriBeCa, 11 AM to about 3 PM, for the Shad Bake. This is an event to support the River Project, a marine science and environmental research and education facility overlooking the beautiful Hudson River. Y'all come!

Please feel free to email me at [email protected], or to call me at 917 365 0876.

Re: Looking for Ceremony Musicians and Cocktail Hour Musicians

I hope you've already discussed adding a violin with your harpist -- if you want that, she should be able to arrange it for you with her own musician contacts. That would be the best way to go, rather than you going around and booking a violinist on your own, to play with her.

Re: Looking for Ceremony Musicians and Cocktail Hour Musicians

Hi there -

I absolutely agree with some of the other postings that going through your harpist is what you should do if you want to add other musicians. Though I've had many opportunities, I've never performed at a wedding with musicians I haven't played with before.

I sent you an FM with some options for your ceremony in case what you have currently doesn't end up working out.

Good luck!

Re: Looking for Ceremony Musicians and Cocktail Hour Musicians

Hello:

Although you can certainly (perhaps) inquire of your harpist about having a violinist to perform with her, it sounds as though you are simply looking for several options/affordable options.
We have experienced and very versatile harpists, and violinists who are wonderful and who also work together.
We have recently recorded a beautiful rendition of a duo of violin and harp together performing 'Ave Maria' by Franz Schubert.

I have sent you a forum mail with our pricing.
We are currently available on October 9th.

Thank you for your inquiry, and good luck and best wishes with your wedding planning!

Sincerely,

Natalie Kriegler
