Makeup help

Hi Brides. I am freaking out today.

I am supposed to have a friend (who is also a makeup artist) do my wedding day makeup. (I know, probably a bad idea). She has refused to take money for the service, and so I have no guarantee she will be showing.

We have already had our trial. Now it's a week before the wedding, and I have been unable to get in touch with her. I have reasons to believe she may not show up. (Or so it seems in my insane bride mind.)

The last time I talked to her, she expressed concerns about transportation to and from the reception. I offered to pay for her car, but she refused again.

So, here's my question:

I am thinking of trying to hire someone else. (I don;'t know if it's possible....?) And doing a new trial and booking him or her for the day. If I end up with two make-up artists, can I ask the paid pro to do my bridesmaids or mother instead (of course willing to pay the difference)???? FH, who has a lot of salon experience, says no. He says they will be insulted and treat me badly if I ask that. He says I should just call up and fire my friend over voicemail when I hire someone else.


I don't want to do this! Help! Please!
