Timing for pictures is driving me crazy, I am looking for a park or nice area to take pictures after the ceremony in, near or around Great Neck, and I am not familiar with Long Island. (My reception is at Leonards and my church is in Manhattan- ceremony at 3pm and reception at 6). I am meeting my photographer to discuss potential areas, but wanted a head start. Oops, almost forgot I am getting married October 21st 2001 (sunday afternoon). I've been told of Westbury gardens, but are there any other places you can suggest? Thanks in advance.

Between Manhattan and Great Neck there's The Botanical Gardens in Flushing and the park off Grand Central and Cross Island (lots of people, tho.) Nothing else is coming to mind. Any little spot should do. Best bet would be to talk to your photographer, who should know the territory. Westbury Gardens would be too far, depending on how much time you have.
