mexico vacation...travel agents please help.

i am trying to plan a trip to mexico next april. can anyone suggeset specific areas. i am thinking of los cabos or the mayan riviera. would you recommend one arera over the other and could you please recommend a few good hotels that i could look at online. my husband and i like to swim, snorkel, sightsee, shop etc. hotel does not have to be all inclusive, but good restuarants are a must.
