Music on the beach

Musicians, have you played at a reception on the beach?
How did you handle the power?
What are my acoustic options?
Thanks so much for your input!

Just want to clarify, I am looking for reception music. While we will probably not have a dance floor, I am still looking for a fun party atmosphere.
(I am looking at a small bay beach by the way)

Dear Future Bride,
You can have steel drums

The Steel Drums consist of fantastic performers. These are authentic performers from Trinidad and Jamaica -dressed in Caribbean Attire. They toured with The Mighty Sparrow, Greg Allman, Doobie Brothers, Kool and The Gang and Cher and Harry Belafonte. They play everything from
Bob Marley to Jimmy Buffet and everything in between.

What happens in the event of rain?
