Nassau County Art Museum

Does anyone know anything about the Nassau County Art Museum for a reception? What can you tell me about it.

I've worked there several times. Classy, different, elegant - grounds are unique with sculptures, the museum, gardens, etc. Nice break for guests to appreciate the room of art next to the reception room. Not to mention strolling around the grounds. Low key, tasteful, innovative and the cocktail hr. food is interesting and first class. Highly reccomended.

Do you know if they allow music, and sit down dinners, and what they charge per person or what the site fee is? Who do they use as caterers? I am just starting to look at places but since we haven't set an exact date yet it is hard to get too much information. I'm looking to have 70 - 100 people so it is a small reception.

If the weather is working with you - you can have a beautiful outdoor ceremony and cocktial hour. I have provided many string quartets for ceremonies at this location. Strolling Mariachi performers or a small jazz ensemble work great for an outdoor cocktail hour. The reception music is in a separate room from the guests. The guests dine in an outdoor tent. The music is inside. There is some type of sound restriction whereby they cannot have a DJ or Band outdoors because of the neighbors. You can contact Laura Wootton at Elegant Affairs (516) 676-8500. She is the caterer. I have worked many functions with her at the Nassau County Museum of Art- she does a great job and the food is superb. Say hello to her for me.
