Need Help (long)

I just got off the phone with my FH. He said that his brother just called his parents and were upset that his wife was not in my bridal party. There were alot of things going on with his family when we first got engaged last July and we didn't talk about the wedding until Christmas. I included in my bridal party a friend, my sister and his 2 sisters. I like his sister-in-law but she lives in NJ and rarely comes up and just didn't think she would want to b/c of the distance and family issues going on. Now I feel horrible and don't know what to do. I would love for her to be in my wedding party. Have I made a huge mistake? Help

Hi, I see no one has given you an answer on this personal subject. I believe that you did nothing wrong. It's your wedding day, you've included his 2 sisters and shouldn't be expected to please everyone. There is going to be alot of upset people no matter what you do. They will all get over it! Just remember, you can't please everyone and this is all about you and your FH.
Good Luck!

That's your decision to make you can't make everyone happy. I had both of my husabands brother wives in my wedding party and now they are both divorced, you never know. Are you close with her? What does your fiance think?

I run into this with many of my clients. On one hand you have to think about what will be best for keeping family harmony. On the other hand do you want to keep the bridal party to the number it already is. If this is not an issue then do not worry about more brides maids than ushers. You can always have two brides maids walk in with one usher.
If you are close to her and want to keep his parents on the happy side you might consider adding her.I have seen too many wedding receptions that have had unnessary tensions because of this issue. You have to weigh what is most important to you and what will cause the least amount of grief in the long run.I just attended a bridal seminar on this issue and there was no single answer. Also you are not the only bride who has had to face this problem.Good luck.
