I am having my wedding near a train station, and a good number of my guests are coming in from Manhattan or staying at a hotel. The hotel that I am having out of town guests stay at is also right near the train station. I want to provide transportation for my guests, but I want to do it inexpensively. Everything is within a 1-1.5 mile radius apart, my mom's apartment, a park where I am taking photos, the train station, the hotel, the place where I am getting married -- all the town of Great Neck.
I was thinking the ideal solution would be to hire a 12 person limo to shuttle my bridal party and me prior to the wedding for photos (about 2 hours). Then, this limo could pick up guests at the train station, making about 2-3 trips to get everyone (I don't think more than 30 people will require this transportation) -- another hour. Then, I could hire this car or a larger vehicle for about 1-2 hours (would prefer the large vehicle for 1 hour, but there may be a minimum) after the wedding to take people back to where they need to go.
Is this a good idea or a recipe for disaster? Could you give me quotes on this? Has it been done?
Thanks, Erika
