On budget.. Need DJ

I've got a budget I'd like to stay at least close to.
What I'm looking for is someone to play during the ceremony & the reception.

The DJ has to have a wide variety, but MUST have beatle music and good 60-80 selection.

We want Pachebelle's Canon in D minor for my 'walk' in.

I'd also need to know what type of deposit is needed.

No two opinions of what constitutes a 'budget' are necessarily the same. I'd be willing to guess that you would not prefer an 'inexpensive' DJ who will deliver a performance less than what you would expect on this special day in your life. Every entertainment vendor will glady inform you that they have exactly what you seek. Interview, ask about prices (be cautious of those who are reticent to give you this information readily), and decide who is the best candidate that can accomodate your available entertainment budget.

My apologies for not sharing my budget.. but let me make this clear.

I believe that you get what you pay for. I also know there are a ton of DJ's in Long Island. Big Names come with Big price tags. Cost doesnt always equal quality. We women in here talk. Just cause you're big today doesn't mean your fit for my wedding.

What I want is a real DJ. I don't need silly themed light shows, I dont want fog, I don't need a rapper either.

I need someone professional enough to play Pachebelle for my walk and still manage to boogie with purple people eater without a blink. (Not that I think anyone would dance to the purple people eater, I just like the song).

Budget varies on song list and availability. Keep in mind this is the Stewart Manor Country Club. It's got a tiny alcove for you to set up in.

With that said, shall we try for responses again?

You spoke 'volumes' with your post, and your 'budget' is nobody's business but yours. I'd be willing to guess that you know exactly what you want. The trick is to find the needle in the haystack.

I'd love to have you attend. I think that you will find it an 'eye-opening' experience which will assist you in making your decision, whatever route you choose. Selecting a DJ/MC is not the easiest thing to do and you want to be confident with your choice. The more information you have at the start will help you to make the best decision for you, without being confused or intimidated by the fancy sales talk.
