Hello, we'll be getting married at the Three Village Inn at 6;30 pm on 6/20/03. Do you think we will have enough time to take pictures after the ceremony before the sun sets? Or do you think we should take pictures before the ceremony (which i really dont want to do).
THanks for your advice!!!

Re: Photography Question
Karen, As the days are longer during the summer, sunset won't occur until after 8:00. However, you want to capitalize on all the natural light you can before the sun gets too low in the sky. The location of your wedding (and access to open sky) is something to also consider. How long is the ceremony going to be? Will it be starting promptly at 6:30? Will you have a receiving line after the ceremony? Is there an attractive outdoor location close by for the photographs? With an attentive and efficient photographer, you should be able to have the portraits made after the ceremony. Even if the light wanes, your photographer should be shooting on a tripod, with flash, allowing a slower shutter speed to expose film to ambient light. But definitely discuss the issue with him/her ahead of time to coordinate a plan for greatet efficiency! Good luck! Lisa

Re: Photography Question
6/20 @ 3VI would be no problem. There's plenty of time before the sun get's too low (depending on how quick your photographer is!) and the sun has a straight open line onto the Inn before it sets with great opportunity to use the natural light.

Re: Photography Question
I agree with your date of June 20th, that you will be fine for sunset photos. It is the day right before the longest day of the year. And, when you get a gorgeous sunset on the harbor, oh my God, it is magnificent!!! The light just glows off the front of the building and on the trees on the Common. It is really one of the nicest places for a sunset. Sometimes the herons and egrets stand majestically in the water in the background of the photo, you can't beat that!!! I guess you can see we like the area, ha ha. Don't worry, your time frame will be fine...Good Luck!
