I am taking pictures before my ceremony at a location 10 minutes from where I'll be married. My question is how many hours before the wedding should I be taking my pictures if my invites call for 9:30. What time should the photographer beginning taking photos.

Re: Pictures before wedding.........
Every photographer works differently. Some take as much as three hours for posing before the ceremony. Others take mostly spontaneous candids and minimal posing (scheduling just an hour from before you put the dress on.) You need to decide how posed or how spontaneous you want your pictures to be.

You should trust the photographer that you hired to set up the schedule that works best from his/her experience. This is their profession, so don't worry.

Mark is right, trust your photographer. Photographers do this 1,2,3, or even 4 times every weekend! They have it down to a science, or should for that matter. Again, like said before, it depends on the style of photography you have chosen to capture your day. If it is highly posed or styled, that can take alot longer than say someone who shoots his photos very natural. That is a lot of time for our studio, but again, we're not doing the wedding. Tell your fiancee to trust his judgment and good luck to you both!
