...that even if a company includes a gratuity in their billing, you are still expected to hand a tip to the actual person providing the service?

Someone we know told us they were told limo companies do this.

Naaah

Unless there is some kind of extraordinary service.

If the gratuity is included then there is no obligation for more.

We have photographed weddings where the limo driver told the Bride & Groom thet the gratuity that was included in the bill was their salary and then asked for a tip!! Clear this up before you book and get your answer in writing.

Absolutely not. If a vendor includes the gratuity (limo company) you are under no further obligation.Tipping is one area that has a lot of controversy. I always tell brides that if you expected a vendor (band,dj, etc)
to perform at a certain level - and they met that level of performance but only stayed at that level - then I would not consider a tip. If they went above and beyond your expectations and also performed or created something extroadinary for you - then I would consider tipping.
Unfortunately too many vendors take tipping for granted. It should never be taken for granted. If a client wants to show their appreciation for services above and beyond - that is what tipping should signify.

What! If the vendor adds the gratuity, why would you give another tip?!?!?!

Unless that person did something out of the ordinary to make or break your day, her should be getting his tip from his boss.

I would question that vendor!
