Does anyone have experience with Sans Souci in Sea Cliff? They offered me a great deal and I really like the location, so I'm looking for feedback before I book it. My main concern is that it will be too tight to fit 150 people. I'm also concerned with how things will go if it rains and we can't use the outdoor space. (We would have our ceremony there, too) I'm also considering the Bridgeview Yacht Club, but haven't actually visited the site, so any comments on that location would be welcome, as well. Thanks.

Re: Reception Location Question
Dear Leslewy, I have provided the music (both Bands and DJ's) for many wedding receptions at the San Souci- and the comments from the performers were always positive. Nice people to work with and good food. If the weather holds up it is great to have a string trio or string quartet for the ceremony. Steel Drums or strolling violins work great there for the pre reception hour. My office provides all these services and all the performers (String Quartet, Strolling Violins,Steel Drums, Mariachi Band and Harp) have been at the San Souci many times.Again-they all had nothing but nice comments. You should have a great wedding there if you decide to contract with them. Re: Reception Location Question
Sans Souci, hmm, IMO it will be a little tight for 150. They can 'accomodate' i beleive probably like 175 MAX, but nice and comfortable again IMO would be somewhere around 130 max. Double check that, and perhaps ask if you can come by when the room is set for 150, then you can see first hand what kind of space your really working with. The staff is nice and the food is good, the view is nice too. Every time I've been there It's been an outdoor cocktail hour, not sure about indoor cocktail area, ask them about that. As far as bridgview yacht club, 150 easy, without a problem. The view is great, it's very open , nice decor, I'm a fan. About the food, haven't tasted it first hand so I'm not sure.
Happy Planning.
PS. Just remember to insist on tastings and such so that again you can see first hand.
Best Wishes,

Re: Reception Location Question
Hi Lesleyw,
Congratulations on your engagement!
I have attended a wedding at Sans Souci and also provided balloon decorating at one. Let me tell you of my experience on both occasions. The staff was extremely professional and provided fabulous service, the view was spectacular and the food simply scrumptious. The one wedding the couple had their ceremony in the gardens and it was very beautiful.
In my opinion, if you liked it, and they are giving a great deal then...Go For It!!!

Reception Location Question
Dear Lesleyw I agree with Follow Your Heart. If your gut feeling is you love it -then go for it-do not take a chance of losing it. Too many brides have lost locations because they waited too long to think about it. If they offered you a great deal you cannot lose. They do an excellent job. I have never heard anything negative about them-only positive comments. STAN WIEST A.STAN WIEST MUSIC Featured in BRIDAL GUIDE MAGAZINE JANUARY 2003 issueStan Wiest Music WebsiteStan Wiest Email

Re: Reception Location Question
Wow! Thanks for all the great input! I went to see them again last night and they invited me to stop by to see the place when it is set for 150. They are holding a date for me for two weeks while I make up my mind. But I think it would be pretty silly to walk away from a place I love, is giving me a good deal and comes so highly reccomended from everyone I ask about it. Thanks again!
