Honestly, I saw nothing wrong with the post. It was on the 'vendor board' after all. I think he had every right to post it, I have no idea why some people got all worked up.

I have to agree w/ chmlengr

I really appreciate the advice that Stan has offered in the past. He has a wealth of info and very open to sharing it. At least he is honest and doesn't hide behind pseudo names posting on the B2B board.

On a side note - my friend used Stan Weist for her wedding last year at Oheka. They were great and received many compliments. I have personal contacts w/ another band, but if I didn't I would seriously consider using his band!

Just my 2 cents.

I don't see what the big deal is either. Stan has answered pretty much every post on this board with informational posts. I think the jist of his post was more of how great it is we all have LIWeddings to help with the planning of our wedding.

And like Quinn said, he didn't try to disguise himself as a bride or try to mislead any of us in any way.

Plus, this board is supported by the vendors that are here to help us. If one of them wants to say he was happy to provide the service to LI brides that's fine with me.

Stan was very helpful and professional to me on the phone, and we still haven't picked a DJ so may be using his services. He is trying to be nice and helpful, and of course trying to succeed in business. Honestly, I don't understand where some peoples anger comes from!

I don't think it was anger. I do however believe that Michele was merely pointing out that the board is called 'Vendors helping Brides' and not 'Vendors helping themselves'. Some people have a problem with shameless self promotion, others do not. To each his own I guess.

In Stan's defense, just in case, sometimes we DO actually get carried away with our work and seem more enthusiastic then we should; which can be construed as self promotion.

And Michelle's right that we're just supposed to be helping, which perhaps Stan felt that he was doing. I sure do get misconstrued and misunderstood a LOT!

Must side with Michele on this. Shameless self promotion is not the purpose of the Vendors Helping Brides forum. His original post was not at all helpful to a bride.

However, I think Stan did the right thing by deleting his post. Thank you.
