Tips on booking a Hall?

Hey everyone,
I`m in the process right now of looking at halls, and I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to bargain with them? I know the tricks of the off season months, and off days, but I`d really like a Saturday in May. In your experience, has anyone gotten a lower price than the hall first offered, or gotten anything extra thrown in? I`m TERRIBLE at bargaining, I usually go with the original price on everything! Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!

Dear Amy,
Be very careful when dealing with catering halls. If the price seems too good to be true-it probably is.The reputable catering halls (Fox Hollow,Westbury Manor,Chateau Briand,Harbor Club,John Anthony`s etc)
will give you your money`s worth.A Saturday in May is prime time. Any hall that suddenly cuts the price should be a red flag. You will be cut from some of the services they offer or in the quality of the food provided. You can get a better price by doing what a lot of brides are now doing-by booking the wedding for a weekday in May or June. The prices will be lower at most locations.I am a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants-I give seminars to Bridal Consultants and this is one of the areas we cover.
