How long does it take for a wedding dress to come in? Some places told me 9-12 months. I was surprised when the place I went to said 5-6 weeks. My wedding is in July but I ordered it anyway just to be safe. 5 days later the place called me and said it came in. Should I be concerned? I hope the place does not lose my dress in the next 10 months. That's a long time for it to sit in a store. Should I take it home and bring it back when the fittings begin? How come other bridal salons take so much longer? Are they telling the truth when they say 12 months?

Dear Jamie,
I would pay for the dress now, and take it back later when you need the final alterations done, just to make sure its not lost. Some stores get their dresses from other countires such as Italy, and France and that is why they say that it will take so long. Your dress stores' manufacturer is probably nearby, and if you are a popular size they may have just had it in stock. Everything will be fine, don't worry. Good luck with all the rest of your wedding planning, and when you're ready to pick entertainment, give me a call.
