wedding planners

I've been on the fence whether or not to get a wedding planner. I've also had conflicting advice. People say that it's a waste of money and others have said it helped a lot.
I do have a lot of ideas that i would want to encorporate into the wedding but I don't know if our budget allows. Is that something that a planner can help me with that.

If people could give me quotes as well as what specifics that goes with the price.
