What do you think??

What do you think??

I need some advice!! Both of my parents have passed away. Mom in '96 and Dad in '00. I would like to play a song in honor of them when we light our unity candle. I found a song by Josh Groben called To Where You Are. I think the song is beautiful, but I am not sure if it should be played at that time or maybe later in the ceremony. I really want to do something in thier memory. Any suggestions??
Thanks.

I think the timing is perfect for a musical interlude... and the song would be a fine tribute to your parents!

Dear Nanjoe,
I agree with the song selection (I was going to suggest the same song) and I would have suggested exactly the same time you chose-at the lighting of the unity candle. What you are doing is a beautiful and sensitive gesture. Have a wonderful wedding. My best wishes to both of you.

What I am about to say is strictly my own opinion. I see no problem with reflecting on the parents at the time of the candle lighting. To me having an honorable mention later on takes away from the beautiful aspect of what you are planning at the time of the candle lighting. It should be done with everyone in attendance. Your parents were very special to you and the memory of them should have a special place at your wedding. Again - this is strictly my personal opinion - as well as what I would advise to a bride in a similar situation.

I think that is a beautiful way to honor your parents during your ceremony! We have done tributes in wedding videos before, and the song 'There you'll be' by Faith Hill also might be a nice song to use, if not for the candlelighting then maybe for a dance during the reception with your husband or another family member??

A new remix of the song has just been released... a bit more upbeat and uplifting in my opinion with acoustic guitar in the background. I think you might like it better than the original!
