BIG news to share...

No i'm not pregnant lol

**And i apologize in advance if this is really long...but i have a lot to say & am ATTEMPTING to keep it short!

So as you know, a WHILE back I had posed some questions about the coast guard.. While I WAS indeed asking for my friend who’s fiancé was interested, the main reason was for me..The truth is Josh had been looking into it first, and with that, my friend’s fiancé gained an interest. I apologize for not being 100% honest, but it was only because it was before anything became serious & I have friends along with family who frequent this site..i didn’t want anything as serious as that getting out to my family when we weren’t even going ahead with anything..

So anyway, my news is that yes – Josh is indeed in the process of joining the U.S. Coast Guard! I really am truly excited & so proud beyond words along with our entire family. At the beginning I initially freaked because I didn’t know much about it…all I knew was what I THOUGHT I knew(which was pretty much all dead wrong lol)..and I also thought this was something completely out of left field as well.. However after lots of prayers & lots of research, I came to know that it really is a wonderful thing with much more pros than cons (and if you’d like to know them feel free to fm )..there are some things that are similar to that of the other branches of the military(the moves), but all in all, it really is quite different. After doing our homework for weeks, really digging into research, talking to friends and family that are actually IN the coast guard(not just recruiters), searching blogs, chat boards, and having long disgussions with josh – we are moving forward I can honestly say we educated ourselves on every single decision and really feel good about everything...This is also something that Josh has wanted since he was really young, and is now making it become a reality. And regardless of all that, it is something that not only is going to give us a rock solid future(whether he stays in or gets out) but is also something he truly feels that he’s meant to be doing.

Right now, we are still in the process of getting everything finalized…he passed all his medical stuff and his ASVAB test..i am so proud of him for this because it was something he was so nervous about…for the CG you need a very high score to pass, and not only did he pass – but the score he got makes him eligible for any job he wants to go after Right now, he has about 2 1/2 weeks to lose the 6lbs that puts him over his weight % to height, and after that we will get the go ahead for the next few steps before heading to bootcamp. He will be in bootcamp for 8weeks where we’ll have no contact…no phonecalls, emails…only letters..but when those 2months are said & done, we will be on the adventure of a lifetime I’m asking you all for your prayers & good wishes over the next few weeks…just that things go smoothly as it’s a very tedious process.. but so far so good! I just wanted to update all my girls & tell you about the great things we have unfolding for us..LOTS of big life changes, but exciting ones at that... it is something that is really great & am really proud of

thankyou so much i've been told many times that some of the biggest decisions that we make in our lifetime take place in our twenties...who you'll marry, having children, and setting the future for the rest of your life...

i've always believed it, but now i REALLY believe it! lol...

it's amazing how decisions like these build ur marraige...last week i told dh how proud i was of him & how much respect i have gained for him...not that it wasn't there before, but to see him thinking like a husband & a future father is something really neat.. that same week dh wrote me a letter saying the same kind of things to me.. this whole process has made us so much stronger (rather than driving us a part which can very well happen)..it makes me so thankful & honored to have the husband that i have

That's really great for you guys! Congrats! I have to say you sound so excited about this for him and you guys. He is really lucky to have someone as supportive as you.

u know - not gonna lie - initially i did freak out a little..lol...but i really did a 360 & got a new perspective on things.. i really educated myself on everything, talked to people etc...and the biggest thing was realizing that josh WAS considering me.. as women we think 'i love you so much - i'd rather spend every day w/u & live in a shack!' but as a man, their perspective is 'i love you SO much, that i am willing to sacrifice all of this just to provide for you & give you the life i promised you'..and that is what i had to realize.. i know his intentions are pure..to love & provide for us..and our future..and that is what counts. and yes - i really am excited! Sometimes we think we know exactly how life should be, but sometimes there is something far better that the big guy upstairs has in store..and THAT is what i look forward too

that is really amazing, Taryn. I am so proud of him - well, proud of you BOTH actually. I had gotten an e-mail from your mother a week or 2 ago asking for prayer on God's will for this situation. I was definitely keeping you both in prayer during that process of testing & such. I'm so glad to hear that everything went well with that.

As a military wife I applaud you for helping your husband towards a very selfless desision. There will be times that you hate the military and will be sick of it but it really does out way the bad when I think about the service my husband has done for our country. I am always so proud of him and proud to be an army wife(which I believe is sometimes a harder job then the job as a soldier)

Please feel free to message me on facebook, I have been through it all and the time apart is hard but it makes you grow closer also. Military wives have to stick together so anything you need I am here. I have a wonderful family and wonderful friends but the support and comfort you find in a fellow military wife is a different kind of support because they know exactly what you feel and are thinking


My husband is away right now on training lol
