Catholic Girls

How many of you go by the no meat rule on Fridays during Lent? I am not the most devote Catholic here but for some reason I still go by it.

After 12 years of Catholic school, I have rice ball casserole with me for lunch which has meat filling. Sometimes I do no meat, sometimes I don't. However, the fact that I'll be at work until at least 8 tonight, I had to bring leftovers with me.

I'm not Catholic but I grew up with Friday lent since my dad is Catholic. Since DH is Catholic as well I'm making fish tonight and pasta on Friday. I don't give up anything for lent though...

No, I usually eat meat on Fridays despite the fact that I'm not supposed to. If that's the worst thing I do with my life (which it's not) I think I'm good.

Put a little extra sauce on the side for after it bakes. Naturally, I didn't make it low fat and changed some things around. I would make it again though.

Okay I am a Catholic Girl, and I have always been the 'God won't strike me down if I have some beef on Fridays during Lent' type of Catholic.

But this morning, I heard my DH say to me that he was not eating his left over steak dinner for lunch coz it was Ash Wednesday......and this from a man who never attended Catholic school, but devoutly follows the teachings during Lent. I felt so guilty that I decided I was going to be inspired by him to try to steer away from meat for Lent. Let's see how that goes.

We don't eat meat on Fridays during Lent or on Ash Wednesday. Making baked ziti tonight (without the meat). However, it is possible that I've forgotton on a Friday and slipped.
