Communion Gift

Communion Gift

What is a good gift amount for a First Communion? Definitely giving cash...

$50? $100?

ETA: It's my second cousin's kid if that matters.

You must've missed the communion gift thread on LIF That was a quite a circus!!

My cousin just made her First Communion- we gave $100- $75 in a check and a $25 justice giftcard

Yep...it was getting pretty ridiculous! The big issue was basically giving more or not because of the place where the communion was held (you know how people sometimes base a wedding check on where the wedding is?)

Prior to the $100 seemed to be a pretty common answer.

I think $100 is a good amount for your second cousin's kid. my niece just made her first communion and that seemed to be the going rate from extended family and friends.

We've had a ton of communions this year for DH's cousins kids....we gave 100 to each.

And then parents using the Communion money to help pay for the party. It didn't get nasty, but it was 8 pages of people repeating the same things over and over again.

I'd give $100, depending on the location of the party!
