Kinda freaked...

Kinda freaked...

On New Years Day, I came out and found the back of my car destroyed. Initially, I thought that someone crashed into me and didn't leave a note. However, I started looking around...and the gas cap cover is GONE...not broken...literally gone...and there was a cup of marinara sauce right outside the car... (like someone had been eating and dropped it...)

I started to think what if someone did this on purpose? If someone hit my car, they would have had a LOT of damage on their own car. I started to think that maybe someone beat it with something on purpose...

I kinda dismissed the idea...because it sounded a little paranoid. We took it to the mechanic today though and he seriously asked if someone went after it with a sledgehammer because of the type of damage.

What do you think I should do? Am I being nuts?

You could notify the cops but they will probably just take a report and ask you if there is someone you think doesn't like you or would have a reason to destroy your car in their mind.

Was the car parked on a street away from home or was it in your driveway? If it was on a random street it could have been done on purpose but by someone you may not know (a stupid thug). If it was parked in your driveway I would be a little more concerned but it could still be a randome incident...sorry I am not much help. It sucks.

It was parked on the street, across the street from the house.
