Sorry kiddies - been dealing with work crap this whole morning and now I'm not in the best of moods.

There's a thread about what you do. Are you doing something you enjoy? Is it your dream job? If not, what is your dream job?

This is by far not my dream job. I normally don't mind what I do and I enjoy talking to my clients (most of them at least). I don't know what my dream job would be - I always wanted to be a teacher though.

Definately not my dream job... (but it's a fantastic company to work for!)..

I'd be working with animals in some way... running a rescue or something of that nature.

When i was in High School, my dad told me I should work with computers and i told him that it sounds like the worst job ever ... i absolutely hated the idea. I was going to be a veterinarian .... then I got to college and took my first biology class and HATED it with a passion ... took all computer classes the following semester and really enjoyed them ...

so yeah, i may hate this job once in a while, but for the most part, i really enjoy it

I used to love it, lately I haven't enjoyed it.

To be honest, I really really really just want to cook. I can cook all day, everyday. I asked DH a while ago if he thinks I should go to school for it and he said he's all for it.

Probably because he can eat my homework.

But yeah, I'd love to be a chef. :)

I am happy to have my job...but its not a job I am passionate about.

My ideal job would be getting paid to play with dogs all day. So, I guess that means owning/operating a doggie day care

DEF not my dream job but while I complain it's really not THAT terrible. I used to have my dream job but it paid CR*P and it was time to move on and get a job that paid my bills (I did promotions for Q104). PLUS Clear Channel was getting hit hard by the economy and everyone in my department got laid off about 6 months after I left.

BUT if I ever win the lotto and can afford to go back, I will DEF go back to doing promotions for a radio station!

I don't like what I do and it goes without say that it is not my dream job. It has, however, served its purpose in the sense of 1) building my resume with transferrable skills/experiences/promotions etc and 2) allowed me to go to the #1 part time MBA program for FREEEEEEEE = HUGE value

ETA: dream job = executive level strategist for a global company

I'm a teacher and I LOVE it! I couldn't be happier.

However, I am very interested in fitness and nutrition. If I could do it all over again I might consider being a Nutrionist and Personal trainer. Thats my current dream job!

I am a prosecutor. I love my job but its a serious love/hate relationship for about a million reasons. I would say I enjoy it bc its challenging, cool, has a real good 'purpose'

but its difficult to endure a lifetime career here between the pay, stress etc. so in due time i will have to move on..

dream job - no idea need help figuring that out but some kind of COOL alternative attorney/business/journalist career. whatever i do will be completely different than what i do now which is difficult to choose and make the next step. but i did a lot of cool things when i was young and ambitious so hopefully ill be able to weasel myself into something great!

well was this my dream? no definately not. its by FAR perfect. WAY underpaid, deal with the most bull that i have ever dealt with at any job and get treated like a slave by certain people. with that said, as crazy as it may sound, i probally will not leave for a VERy long time if ever because the people who i work for and around (my immediate boss) and the other staff are kinda like a dream. my boss is like my second mother, she is the best. theres not a day that goes by that i dont think that i am so thankful to have her. just that is worth SO much...ive learned that being crazy stressed in a job your hate or while working for a person you hate is 100 times different that being stressed at a job working for a person and around people who are basically family to you. oh, im the office administrator for a Real Estate company

if i do anything, i would open up an animal shelter

I dont know if I have a dream job.

The only job I ever had that I really liked was when I was an RA or when I was taking hotel reservations.

I don't like working.

I like staying home and watching TV.

Well I've just started my job so I don't know the pros/cons yet...but I've worked in the same situation before and I do really love it. I can wear casual clothes, its a casual environment, there's always something new happening and everyone's a character...yes there are bad things (behaviors, incontinence, etc...) but in the end its fun and rewarding.

That being said...its not my dream job because the pay sucks and will always suck. My dream job is doing what I'm doing but being paid over 30k a year

No and it was made abundantly clear to me yesterday. Then again, NOBODY has dreams of becoming a receptionist one day.

I really want to do event planning. I helped plan our Mardi Gras party at work and I had so much fun doing it. I got paid to set up, supervise, and clean up for the party and I enjoyed every minute of it. It just makes me realize that when I thought about doing it before it wasn't just a whim because I missed wedding planning. I REALLY want to do this for myself.
