What is the funniest/craziest/most annoying thing an in-law has ever done to you?

I literally could write a book on my MIL, we all know she is literally crazy.

* The first time I met her she told me she was forced to have DH and wished she had an abortion

* She gave me a toyota hubcup in a trash bag for Xmas one year (i drive a vw)

* She has also given me a box of rubber snakes, her used clothes (she is a size 14 and i'm a size 6)

* She offered to buy us a house if she could move in with us (i immediately said no thanks)

* And the biggest one of all which I will NEVER get over.....SHE DIDN'T SHOW UP TO OUR OWN WEDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!! because DH was going to dance with his mom and step-mother....crazy lady.

Everytime someone tells me how horrible their MIL is, I always say 'mine takes the cake'

My SIL didn't come to my shower... she said she was never consulted on the date nor asked to help by my sisters so she wouldn't attend... (I was cc'd on every email they sent her cause of SIL's issues - so I know she lied through her teeth to DH)...

And she told DH that she felt like a 'guest' and completely uninvolved with all the wedding activities... Uninvolved? She wrote and performed our wedding ceremony?? How is that uninvolved?!

Cleo - my MIL was at a LIE overpass threatening to jump....the police came and had her committed by the state for 72 hours. I think your MIL and my MIL should share a room at Pilgrim State

Ugh...the ridiculousness of my ILs!!!


You all know most of the stories but I'll sum it up here:


SIL called me an evil stepmother and told me I have the wit of a cockroach and the intelligence of a toddler...this was in response to an email I sent her telling her we should bury the hatchet since we'd be family soon. According to her, marrying her brother doesn't make me her family. She doesn't feel the need to apologize for any of those things either.

My MIL...if I wrote a book about all the ridiculous shiz she's pulled I'd have to publish it as fiction because nobody would believe it!

when my bridal shower invitations went out, my mom put the words 'no denim' on an insert in the invitations. it's country club policy that guests are not permitted to wear denim of any kind - they won't be allowed in (ok it's a private club so whatever).
MIL called DH crying because it was 'obviously directed' at her and her 'guests'

yes MIL. yes. you're THAT important.

Hysterical! I love the toyota hubcap story...too funny. Two of my toyota hubcaps were stolen this summer..If I knew you had one lying around, I would have offered to buy it from you..Come to think of it, maybe you received my hubcaps for Xmas..LOL!

oh man these stories are too much. my brother's wife though wins the award for worst SIL, my brother and Tina (her name) have been married for about 9 years. My older brother has never had much friggin sense in the romance department. my SIL has always been difficult to deal with and has done and said some truly horrible things but i try to ignore it and let it go for my brothers sake, well two thanksgivings ago i hit my breaking point. Our aunt uncle and cousin megan were over and my cousin decided to sleep over for the night so we could all hang out and catch up. so the next morning my cousin megan had a doctors appointment didnt have her car at the house and asked my brother if he could drive her so i decides to tag along. we invited my SIL and she didnt want to come..ok fine
so we're out for about two hrs, DR was taking longer than we thought, not like we're out partying or anything and my brother gets a text from my SIL that says 'thanks for leaving me here with your mother she asked me to sweep the kitchen and our out with two big breasted hot chicks'
first of all my mom the night before cooked a thanksgiving dinner for 18 ppl so asking you to sweep the kitchen so she can spend some time with her granddaughter is NOT a big deal secondly the two big breasted hot chicks are his little sister and first blood cousin
