OK are there any good places that I could go to that is not super far from me to look for bridal dresses?

There used to be a store on Northern Blvd in Queens named Avic, but I'm not sure if it's still there. I think there's also one in Forest Hills called Brava or something like that.

There are a few on Main Street in Flushing but I cant think of the names!

Yes! I think years ago (about 10 years ago that is) my sister looked for her wedding gown there.

As far as Charmet, I ordered my BMs gowns there for my first wedding about 7 years ago and my mom also got her gowns there for my sister's wedding and my first wedding.

Re: Dress shops in Queens/Brooklyn or Nassau

Ok I have been to Lillettes (liked), Bridal Reflections (Massapequa) (HATED), Lestans, Bklyn (HATED), Valentina's Bklyn (LOVED). I'm going to Lynbrook Bridal just to look tonight and I just made an appt for Flowerama in Elmont for Tuesday. So lets see what happens, I may try Charmet.

I know there is Lestans (i've heard mix reviews about this place). I order my BM dresses from a place called Valentina's Bridal.

Re: Dress shops in Queens/Brooklyn or Nassau

So far so good for me with Charmet. I ordered my dress late last January and had my first fitting on Saturday. The seamstress was great. I had originally found my dress at Macy's in Manhasset and when I called Charmet they had my dress for about $800 cheaper!! Plus they include alterations in the price.

I was also lucky because they ordered my dress right away and didn't wait until closer to my wedding date. It ended up that my dress designer (Diamond) went out of business so if they had waited I wouldn't have gotten my dress!!

Lots of luck to you. Feel free to shoot me any other questions you might have.
