My 9/2/05 Greentree Country Club Wedding Review with Pictures
As some of you guys might know I live in Westchester so I mainly used vendors in my area however I know there are a few Westchester brides on here so here goes my review:Weather: A+
The weather was perfect that day, warm and sunny not humid at all. I was very lucky since my ceremony was outside.
Hair: Maria, Continental Hair Salon Bronxville, NY A+
Maria was awesome. I went to her for a trial in July and booked her on the spot. She did 2 hair styles for me on the same day. I ended up going with an all up do since I looked about 12yrs old with my hair half up and half down. She also trimmed and highlighted my hair 2 weeks before the wedding and it came out perfect. The salon is pricey however totally worth it.
Makeup: Francine, Continental Hair Salon Bronxville, NY A+
I did my makeup trial with Francine the same day I did my hair trial. Either came out perfect and she did everything I asked. Price was very affordable. I had a bad experience at Adam and Eve salon if anyone goes there FM me.
Dress: Donna & Rosalie Paradise Bridals Patchogue, NY A+
I got my dress in LI since my mom and basically entire family live there. Donna was great, I was searching for a dress I saw at Bridal Suite of Bayshore and didn't know the designer. I took a pic and posted it here on LIW and of course someone know who the designer was (Paloma Blanca). I called Donna and she matched Burton's price for the dress. I actually ordered it over the phone with her. Rosalie the seamstress was great no complaints. I got an under bustle which cost me a lot since they charge per snap. At that point I didnt care since I didn't like how the traditional bustles looked on me.
Bridesmaids Dresses: www.netbride.com A+
We picked out the dresses @ Paradise Bridals but they were over $200 so we ordered them from netbride.com for $147. The bridesmaids wore Dessy #2016 in celestial blue and the MOH wore Jordan/Joanie G #685 in sapphire. My MOH wanted a different dress than everyone else. Which was fine by me.
Shoes: www.shoebuy.com A+ I ended up ordering 3 pairs of shoes from them love the free shipping! Kept 1 and returned the other 2. Piece of cake. Shoes were pretty comfy.
Flowers: Odyssey Floral New Rochelle, NY
B+
I am not a flower person so I didn't want to spend a lot of flowers. I contacted Laurie from LA Blossom but she was booked, so I ended up going with Odyssey which is the house vendor for Greentree. Loved the centerpieces but wasn't crazy for the bok's. They did everything I asked and were very affordable. I spent less than $1000.
Photo/Video: Duet
Grade to be determined once proofs arrive. They were on time and were very nice. Had a bit of hard time understanding them but it all went smoothly. Can't wait to see the proofs.
Officiant: Father George Hintz A+
I found Father George on
www.weddingofficiants.net
He was a big hit. Everyone keeps telling me how funny he was. He made the ceremony short, sweet and humorous. We paid extra to get a Priest instead of a Judge and in my opinion it was worth it. He performed a very nice ceremony.
String Quartet: LIW Vendor Counterpoint A-
I dealt with Christina. She was a little hard to get a hold of but everything worked out. They arrived early and sounded great. Very affordable and highly recommended.
Band: Blackout 77 A+
Joe Tribuzzio is the band leader and we dealt with him the entire time. DH wanted a band and I got nervous because I know how pricey they can be. We got lucky in finding Joe since he is very reasonably priced. We had a 7 piece band, Joe sang and also DJ'd during the breaks. Joe also DJ'd the CH. The band was excellent. Joe even played some Mets moments for me since I am a huge Mets fan without me asking. Everyone seemed to enjoy them. FM me for pricing.
Greentree Country Club: A+
Everything went smoothly at GT. The gazebo looked beautiful and so did our room. The food was excellent and there was plenty. The viennesse hour was insane. So many cookies, pasteries etc... The chocolate fountain was a huge hit of course. And best of all they baker made my Mets cake that I wanted. The cake was the cutest thing I ever saw. I should send a pic to the Mets since they had the nerve to lose that day and have gone downhill since!! I think I deserve season tickets! Anyways GT is a great place for a wedding. They are very flexible and in my opinion are very reasonably priced. The only hiccup we had with them was when we did the menus we were told we had to pay for the chocolate for the fountain. The BM Michael did not mention that when we signed the contract. Either way we got a good deal since I know some places charge pp for the fountain.

Honeymoon: Las Vegas and Los Angeles
Las Vegas, Mandalay Bay A+
We left on Sunday for Vegas. We flew Jet Blue of course need the TV. Mandalay Bay was great. My new bro in law called and upgraded our room for us before we got there. We had an executive suite with a hot tub, it was super nice. The pool is the best part of Mandalay Bay. They have a lazy river, fake beach and wave pool. We bought tubes and floated on the lazy river. Mandalay Bay is kind of far from everything but we took the free tram everyday to Excalibur, we only took cabs when we were too tired to walk which was only twice. We went to all the hotels, Hoover Dam, ate @ Smith and Wollensky and Circo (in Bellagio). Vegas was awesome but it was very hot over 100 degrees everyday. On Thursday we picked up our rented convertible and were off to LA. Driving through the desert was crazy, there is nothing, no rest stops nothing. It was a little scary but beautiful.
LA: LeMontrose Suite Hotel West Hollywood B-
We were 2 blocks from Sunset Strip. Location was good and the suite was cute. We had two issues with them, once the valet couldnt find our rented car and other was during checkout they insisted we took a bunch of stuff from the mini bar which we didn't. We had to argue for 20mins to get the charges off. That left a bad taste in our mouth. Anyways LA was 30 degrees cooler than Vegas! We did Universal Studios, LA City tour w/ celeb houses, Malibu/Venice Beach and the Santa Monica Pier. LA is fun but it is hard to impress a New Yorker. We didn't see any celebs only Pete Rose signing autos in Vegas LOL. We did eat at The Stinking Rose which is a garlic restaurant. It is soooo good, we went to one in San Francisco years ago because I remember it being on the Real World SF! Right before we left for the airport we stopped at Hollywood Blvd. so I could get souviners for my nieces and nephews, this was 9/12. I am in a store and the lights go out. I start freaking out since the day before was 9/11 and there was a terrorist warning in LA. I get the hell out of there and we start driving to the airport. All the traffic lights were out! I was freaking out but we finally got the airport and our flight was on time. We flew Jetblue back home and I watched Laguna Beach (so wanted to go there but it is like 2hrs from LA) and My Super Sweet 16 on the plane! Here are the honeymoon pics. http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8AbNmrJy0aNH2Q

Everything looks so nice, and your Mets cake is TOO COOL! I love it when the Bride and Groom do something really specific to their personalities. Also, we are Dessy Celestial Blue BM twins! Congratulations to you and your DH

Thanks!
I was worried about the color since on Dessy's site the color looks awful. But it is really nice in person.
