AFFORDABLE VACATION FOR HER AND HER 2 KIDS AND HER HUBBY
Preferably somewhere they can drive to. THey just bought a house so the budget is tight, any ideas you have will be helpful. She does not mind staying somewhere they can cook their own meal etc. Thanks

Wildwood NJ, is nice and a lot of hotels have efficiency rooms. Belmar is nice too. New Jersey has a website with all of the hotels, unfortunately I dont know it. Try a google search

Have her stay at Shawnee in the Poconos. They get a cabin. It is 2 stories with a fireplace and 2 bedrooms................. They can drive to horseback riding, and rollerskating, etc.......... Alot of shops and craft things to do...............
How old are the kids?

Wildwood is nice, but I would not reccomend Belmar for a family....It's all 18-21 year olds!!!
Spring Lake is a great GORGEOUS shore town in NJ that is clean and mostly all families....

TWO WORDS!! LAKE GEORGE! NY!!
I have been going there since i was about 5 years old.. i love it there, there is so much to do for families, its a big family town.. and there is wet and wild the water park, and the great escape (its like 6 flags) theres miniture golf, and i could go on. beautiful resturants on the water to eat, and you can rent boats and go on guided boat rides... theres a beach... the hotels are all right there so you are in the heart of the town you never even need your car.
also tell them to check out Myrtle Beach, SC...very family friendly...just 8 hours in a car...but you can take the scenic route and go over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel...

A number of my friends and my family used to rent condo's for a week or two at cape cod - it is reasonable and you can cook for yourself so you can control your eating budget if you want too. It is drivable as well. You can go whale watching, go to the beach, there are pleanty of cute towns like chatham to wander around.

Tell her to look at Skyauction Fh and I have gotten our Pennsylvania Vacations for the past 2 years from there. We usually go in January, but I'm sure there is something available in the summer. Last year we stayed at Shawnee and this year at Fairway Villas (by Fernwood Resort). Last year we paid 150 and this year we paid 260 total for the WHOLE week. Both years we had a 2 bedroom villa with a full kitchen, fireplace, washing machine, etc. They're timeshares that Skyauction acutions off.

I second Wildwood, and would like to add Hatteras Island in South Carolina. It's beautiful and 'beachy', and there are lots of affordable places to stay.
