photographer woes

so my friends sister just got married a few weeks ago..
she used ADA, and I haven't seen her pictures myself, I heard they are amazing... she and I were just chatting about packages... now I don't know how much she spent on hers... but she got A LOT

'we got to pick 100 pics for our album....we got save the dates n thanks yous....our parents get 100 pics each....n each member of our bridal party gets a 5 by7 n we get brag books n all theproofs....n we get a 16 by 24 mounted n framed....2 8 by 10s n 2 5 by 7s.....n engagement photos n a lot more....we went to patken first the decided to go with ADA....see if u can switch'


ok MY package:

30 pics in the ablum, NO parents albums ( ) 150 stds and tys... 300 proofs in album.

and we're getting 3 DVDs (videographer)

our package was close to $4200. from what I heard, she spent about $1000 less (though I'm not sure.. its what someone THOUGHT she was spending) oh and did I mention her BP had like almost 30 people?????

am I getting ripped off? I feel like so many of you have better packages and are paying a lot less... this is the most expensive vendor we have (besides the hall) and and its the most important to me.. but I feel like we're not getting enough for what we're paying.
and I thought we got a large pic and 2 smaller pics... yea... its not on our contract anywhere. but we did get an 8x8 e-pic.

ada has a lot of really terrible reviews. just sayin...

maybe she got a lot more but that's prob bc they needed to book someone so they gave her a good deal or a lot of extras.

you'll get a cd of your pics and can do what you want with them so i would stay with the better photographer and not have to worry about getting good pictures

Unless she had no videographer (and even with a videographer) I can't imagine she would've gotten all that for $3200, especially from ADA. I saw them at a showcase and they were

I met with ADA.... HATED THEM! I was getting sooo much more with Duet and they told me they take great pics.. umm..okay? why would I pay more for you then.

I bet she paid more they weren't the cheapest I saw and certainly not the best. IMO ADA compared to Patken is no contest Patken takes much better pics

thanks girls.. I feel a little better, though I still feel like I'm being screwed. I'm not sure what she paid, I heard through a mutual friend she was paying around $3500... but that person could have been wrong. and she and I aren't close enough where I could ask her how much she really paid.

idk, I've always regretted booking with patken. only because of the price. I heard duet has better prices and their pictures are gorgeous!

oh well, nothing we can do about it now.

Don't let the rumors get to your head. This friend very likely paid (much) more money than $3200 for her photos. AND your photos are going to be so much better than hers. All the girls on here who used Patken had great photos.

something doesnt add up. thats a lot of stuff she got for not a lot of money. i personly didnt look into them but i have heard not so great things about them.

im using Thomas Paul and i have video and photo and the good stuff that comes with it and its $4000

I'm not a huge fan of ADA's work and they get ehhh-so-so reviews. I've also heard some not to great things about their work.

It's all about quality.

I'm paying $6800 for my photog and $3300 for video and I'm getting A LOT less than other people who payed much much less than me. For me it was all about their work not how many albums I could get for cheap. I figured I could get one AMAZING album and the files to make two parent albums on my own or I could pay a lot less for work I wasn't in love with and get fill 3 albums with pictures I didn't like.
