Does anyone have any DJ package pricing they can share w/me?
I haven't checked out any DJ's yet and have NO CLUE where to start so can anyone please help me with some info on maybe what Company's they like, what kind of packages are out there, pricing (FM). TIA

Well are you going to get just dj and mc or add extras such as : lights, plasmas, percussionist, some places will also have a singer you can add, saxophone, plus the giveaways...This will drastically change the price.

Definitely look into Tommy's Tunes. They're a little bit pricier than others, but so worth it.

Well one package i saw but this is a company in the city so you wont hear that much about them on here
$1890 for dj and mc
then they had 3 light packages, started at $400 and highest was $1000
Plasma, again how many you want, is a big higher than that too I think, ahhh why cant i remember plasma prices
But i have seen alot of people get it for less on here

Hmm so far I'm pleasantly surprised...I was expecting normal packages to be like $5k-$6k

no the lower prices are like $1200 for example...Even the all out packages are between $2500-3500...Bands are the ones that are the price you mentioned

My package came to around $3400 with a DJ, MC, light show, plasmas with slideshows, percussionist (I'm pretty sure we included this in the price) and someone to come and tape the church ceremony to play later on the plasmas...

Try In The Mix DJ (www.inthemixdj.com). They're great and so nice to work with. They'll work with your budget too so that you will never feel pressured to take anything.
DJ and MC usually start around $1600-$1800 and adding the plasmas will increase that. I got plasmas, dj and mc and am paying less than $4K.

I think we are paying 3-3500 for a dj, mc precussionist, light show, plasmas (2) and they will do a slide show. Also if our videographer wants he can hook up his stuff so they can play back the reception.

We just meet with tommy tunes this past week and their packages were not bad(I also thought that dj's were going to be $$ but tommy tunes was great) and i also hear such great things about them -they had a 5 hour package that includes music for cocktail hour, dj, mc, and a light show for $1975 (not sure about plasma) -they had a 4 hour package that included dj and mc(2people) for i think $1795 --they also had cheaper packages that had a dj/mc(one person) and they had more $$ packages that had everything you can think of (what you see at showcases) Not sure if we are going to see anyone else but if we do i will let you know HTH

hey Mel- i know there are great reviews on FM entertainment, & high voltage! they are also really affordable & they have packages in what you are looking for

Our package includes:
DJ MC Intelligent Lights Percussionist Monogram Gobo 2 Plasmas
Everyone else was charging us what we're paying for the same package MINUS the plasmas (dang they up the price a lot for those!). I think we got a great deal since we're getting the plasmas too.

Melissa, we met with Bravura last night and they had different options available. They start at 1900 for dj/mc combo and you can add lights and plasmas. Intelligent lights are 400-800 and i dont think we got plasma pricing. They also have the live entertainment available (drums, keys and sax) for 750 each. They were very professional and I really enjoyed their presentation. They may be a little more expensive then other places, but I would absolutely check them out. We haven't booked yet because we want to look around and get more ideas, but they seem to be a great option!

They quoted us $1500 additional for 2 plasmas - they try to sell the big screen tv more than the plasmas. I think they lowered the plasma price to $1300 on top of the DJ, MC, etc. package.
I just have to say, though, that Bravura was definitely in the running for us as a DJ - we loved them when we initially met them and we saw them at a friend's wedding. BUT, they upped the price on us and didn't give us accurate info during our followup. I'm sure they'd still do a great job, but this didn't sit well with us.

Really??? FH knows Tony from back in the day so I dont know if they really 'threw-in' the extras...dont get me wrong, we appreciated it, but they are still a little more then I wanted to spend on music...but he really likes them regardless of cost. We are going to look around a little bit more and we will see where we end up! I may have to let FH win ONE battle!
