Newlywed Tip of the Week!

Newlywed Tip of the Week!

So here is my newlywed tip of the week! I've been having trouble editing my pictures down to 100 for my album. I finally got to 103 last night and decided to lay them out how I would want them in my album and snap some shots (so glad I have a large couch!). It is SO helpful is seeing layout, making sure you have enough family/friends and that it actually tells a story...so...that's my tip of the week!

It looks great, Leese!

I'll play...
My tip of the week is also pic related...I keep a small 'brag book' with me filled with my favorite non-prof pics since my proofs are not in yet. It's only 10 or so of my favorites - I keep it at my desk, and bring it with me when we visit family/friends over the weekend. It sounds a bit obnxious/presumptios, but people always ask to see, and it is better than handing over a stack of pictures. Some people give bith to babies, I gave birth to a wedding.

Leese... thank so much for posting this!! We're having SUCH a hard time narrowing down our proofs to 120. So far we're at 148 (down from 170, down from 200...). Now looking at yours I think I have too many getting ready pics and also maybe too many of us alone, so maybe I can take some out of those categories. I like the flow of your album and love the last pic!!!

I had such a hard time as well. We are now at around 105 (with background pics too) and that's a pretty good amount, but I would have LOVED about 120!!!

We did the same thing (or should I say, I did the same thing). Narrowed down from 200, to 160, to 120...etc. etc.

I found that I too had TOO many getting ready shots and dropped a lot there. I also found that we had too many ceremony shots. By snapping these pics, I was really able to look at it and make a good honest decision. Plus, I was able to make sure I showed everyone!

Good Luck!

I agree--great tip! I ended up doing something similar, it's hard when we all have so many amazing pics but I am VERY happy with the story flow of our album and am constantly doing other things with the pics that we didn't use in the album! Congrats and yeah

I did the same thing. My mom and I wanted them to 'tell a story' and it really helped to lay them all out.

Great tip, I was actually doing this when I realized that we were missing important pics, (i.e. first kiss as H&W, cake feeding, garter, etc.) I called the photographer and turned out there was a CD that wasn't printed so there are about 170 pics I didn't get.

Now we're waiting for those so we can do our album and TY pics.

You'll do it. I actually had a few more than 100 but my photog. let them slide.

BTW, one other thing I was able to do is count the pics like : Ok, I have two of the bridal party, that's enough. I have three pics of my brother, so I'll take out this one. Etc. Etc. That helped a lot!

Leese, another great tip! We chose 10 pics of our bridal party... I know I know but they are such good ones! We have one of the whole gang, one of me w/ the girls, len & me with the girls, len & me with the guys, len goofing around with his guys and then some candids of them all standing together (MOH & BM, 4 of them together, etc...). Is this too many? We just LOVE them all. We have a lot of the reception too... Ugh, I can't believe how hard this is.

We're down to 137! Still 17 over....

Well, first, my photographer didn't count any pics that were going to be 'background' pics (not sure if you are doing the magazine type album. So, remember that - if you go there with 125, they might not care.

Second, I think that sound great - you just may want limit how many of the bridal party you put in other places. I tried to include at least one of my closest friends in the random reception pictures. Remember, you can always frame some, etc. I did a LOT less of the bridal party, but included them in other areas of the book - does that make sense?

Re: Newlywed Tip of the Week!

i had a hard time narrowing. but i was told to keep out most pics of casual friends and acquaintences that i will eventually lose touch with...

i also didnt think it was necessary to show pics of every one of my girls walking down the aisle. my moh/sister is getting a pic like that, along with my oldest friend from when i was young. i did not, however, show every girl walking down the aisle.

i opted for more pics of mike and i than shots of others

I agree with this! (Well, except the pics of them walking down the aisle cause for me, it was their one good 'shot' in the album)

But, I just kept saying to myself...'Make this a story of you and Frank, not everyone else.' Because you can always whip out the other albums with pics of that.
