'The Incident' that Occurred at Our Wedding (Updated with Pictures at Bottom)
So I know I told some of you that we had an 'incident' at the wedding, but was not ready to talk about it yet.
I can share now. Sometimes I see humor in it, but definitely not when it happened.
So, here is what happened.
John, my DH, has a bunch of relatives in MA. He never sees them. We went to a wake for one of his aunts that passed away 2 weeks before our wedding and I met them all for the first time, and then a bunch of them were at the wedding. He is not close to them, so much so that some of his cousins (who were invited to and attended our wedding), did not know who he was, or he did not know their names. (Which annoyed me that they were invited in the first place, since I did not invite all of my first cousins, but that's another story).
Okay so fast forward to the wedding. One of his male cousins from MA, about 44, I would guess, tells us that he might like to do a little something special for us later that night. I sort of just laughed and was like whatever. I know that he has a good singing voice, and has apparently sang Frank Sinatra, etc. at other family weddings. We had a band (Code Bleu). If he was going to do something like that, well fine, whatever, I wasn't psyched since we loved the band, but it would be nice. Meanwhile this cousin did NOT know John at the wake 2 weeks prior so they are NOT CLOSE.
So that was mentioned around 8:30 PM. Nothing happened and I totally forgot about it. Around 11 PM, I am sitting with my cousins eating cake and notice that the band stops. The cousin says he is going to do a little performance or something, I wasn't really paying attention. He calls John up to stand next to him, and calls up a few bridesmaids. So my two sisters (the MOHs), and one of my bridesmaid cousins go up.
He puts on a CD. A song I have never previously heard, and did not recognize. I now know that the song is called Strokin - the lyrics are cut and paste at the end of this post.
So, I never heard of the song and did not recognize or realize what it was about for quite some time. But he had John up there, and he was doing a dance, to the east, to the west, gyrating, humping, simulating things... IT WAS NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. And our guests included 2 1/2 tables of work people (including 5 of my bosses), a priest, a nun, children...
So my best friend, another BM, and I go up near the other girls. We try to get the groomsment to stop it, but they are too busy laughing they nearly peed their pants.
Most people found it very amusing, but my dad was mortified, I was, John was, etc. It was unfortunately, the last thing I thought about when I went to bed on my wedding night and the first thing I thought of when I woke up the next morning.
I later found out that it could have been worse - the guy is a Chippendale dancer and this dance was part of his routine. He could have done it with much fewer clothes on!
There are some pictures of this happening in the professional pictures on my photographers website, for those of you that looked there. Towards the very end. Will try to post some later.
Hope this amuses you. Do not ever let the band stop at your weddings!!!! We think we would have enjoyed it at another occasion, like a birthday or something, but not our wedding!!!!!!!!!!
When I start makin' love I don't just make love... I be strokin'
That's what I be doin', huh
I be strokin'
I stroke it to the east
And I stroke it to the west
And I stroke it to the woman that I love the best
I be strokin'
Let me ask you somethin'...
What time of the day do you like to make love
Have you ever made love just before breakfast
Have you ever made love while you watched the late, late show
Well, let me ask you this
Have you ever made love on a couch
Well, let me ask you this
Have you ever made love on the back seat of a car
I remember one time I made love on the back seat of a car
And the police came and shined his light on me, and I said:
I'm strokin', that's what I'm doin', I be strokin'
I stroke it to the east
And I stroke it to the west
And I stroke it to the woman that I love the best
I be strokin'
Let me ask you something...
How long has it been since you made love, huh?
Did you make love yesterday
Did you make love last week
Did you make love last year
Or maybe it might be that you plannin' on makin' love tonight
But just remember, when you start making love
You make it hard, long, soft, short
And be strokin'
I be strokin'
I stroke it to the east
And I stroke it to the west
And I stroke it to the woman that I love the best, huh
I be strokin'
Now when I start making love to my woman
I don't stop until I know she's sas-ified
And I can always tell when she gets sas-ified
'Cause when she gets sas-fied she start calling my name
She'd say: 'Clarence Carter, Clarence Carter, Clarence Carter
Clarence Carter, ooooh ****, Clarence Carter'
The other night I was strokin' my woman
And it got so good to her, you know what she told me
Let me tell you what she told me, she said:
'Stroke it Clarence Carter, but don't stroke so fast
If my stuff ain't tight enough, you can stick it up my...' WOO!
I be strokin' Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
I be strokin'
I stroke it to the east
And I stroke it to the west
And I stroke it to the woman that I love the best, huh
I be strokin'
I be strokin' Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
I be strokin', Yeah!
I be strokin'
I stroke it to the north
I stroke it to the south
I stroke it everywhere
I even stroke it with my... Woo!
I be strokin'
I be strokin' Ha! Ha!
I be strokin'
