UPDATE Jim Hjelm BM dresses.... don't fit 2 of my girls! Too small

UPDATE Jim Hjelm BM dresses.... don't fit 2 of my girls! Too small

So I was so excited last week bc my girls dresses came in....well 2 of them are too SMALL!!!

Two of my girls wear a size 4... the dresses were ordered in an 8... and they don't even zipper!!!

AHHHHHHHHh Jim Hjelm why do you make dresses so small?

The bridal shop was the one who took all the measurements and some how is going to have to order me two more dresses RUSHED... my wedding is Oct 29th and the dresses initally took 4 months to come in.

I am FLIPPING out!!! Thank goodness my MOH is handling this -- but the store is closed on Mondays and I won't know anything till tomorrow.

i had the same problem but it was the fault of my BMs bc they didn't get themselves measured

both were able to get their dresses let out by a tailor. have you tried that?

wow, sorry you have to deal wtih that ... but i think it should be fine if the dresses are rushed ....

The dresses are too small - not enough fabric to let out to make them fit! Trust me we tried to figure out all sorts of options. BOth of the dresses fit the same and don't zipper of the girls rib cages... it's not like they gained weight in their ribs!

The one dress needs at least 4 more inches to close and the other is about 2 inches.

WOW! The same thing happened to me!!! My cousins in Georgia were just shipped their dresses.

They're sisters, one ordered a 10 and the other a 12. The one who ordered the 10 also ordrered extra length since she's 5'9. The dress did not have the extra length!!

She then tried the dress on, it was too small. She tried on the 12 and its SNUG on her. For some strange reason, the 10 fits on the cousin who ordrered the 12. I figured they labeled the dresses wrong in the bag but the size is on the tag in the dress.

Very strange. My aunt is going to call the store up and see what they say. I'm afraid its too late to order new ones.

my SIL had Jim Helm for her BP... the dress sizes were INSANE... it was literally 4 sizes above a normal dress size... so ridiculous. is there a chance the dresses can be let out?

I am having the same problem except 2 of bms gained weight and that is why they don't fit and 1 is going to be 9 months pregnant!!! They have to order more fabric and reconstruct the whole dress.....

But maybe they can do that... can they just order more fabric?

my dresses were also super small, and they were made by alvina valenta, also under JLM Couture. I think the whole line runs small.

My sister is preggers, so she ordered extra fabric from the company and is having the dress restructured. Somewhat expensive, but a good option if you can't let them out and the store won't help.

****** UPDATE******* so my two girls and I have to drive to NJ on Friday to show the shop how the dresses don't fit...they are convinced that BOTH of my girls gained so much weight that the dresses don't fit.... SOOOOOOOOO PISSED that we have to take days off of work and drive 140 miles each way to show them...but I need them to see in person that they don't fit so they can rush order 2 new dresses

OMG that's ridiculously annoying! i can't believe they think TWO DIFF PEOPLE gained a ton of weight! i could understand one, but not two!!!

does the store want you to bring in pictures dated 6 months ago too so the store can be 100% sure the girls didn't suddenly gain that weight

the exact same thing happened to my sister! it was tight around the ribcage area and fit everywhere else!! hers was let out so we didn't need to order a new dress...

The same thing happened with my friends bridal party. There were 6 of us in her party and we were all measured correctly. But when the dresses came in, 3 out of the 6 of us had issues. Luckily enough there was SOME extra fabric that the seamstresses were able to let the dresses out a little so we were able to breathe lol.

With jim hjelm your best bet is to order double your normal size this way way when the dresses come in and they are big on you - then you have the fabric to have it taken it. bc it sucks to have no fabric to let out and not be able to breathe in your bridesmaids dress lol.

I think they do this so girls who all ready are obsessed with their weight become even crazier.
