suffolk county law

suffolk county law

Hi ladies,
I need some help here. I know I've read a few times that if you book a reception hall in suffolk county, if you cancel with more than six weeks notice, you are entitled to a refund, less $100. Is that true, even if you signed a contract that indicates a higher penalty?
Does anyone know where I could find something I can print out online about that?
Thank you!
PS We are still getting married, we are OK, but there was a family tragedy that made us question our choice of wedding -- we may want to go smaller. We are OK.

The law states you can be refunded your deposit less $100 if you cancel at least 6 months in advance.

Sorry to hear about your family's troubles. Good luck!

Thank you! I meant to write six months, not weeks.
Does anyone know where I can find that in writing?
