Suspenders / and Sherlock Holmes (haha)?

Hi Ladies - so, FH and I saw Sherlock Holmes this past week and now I am obsessed with the idea that he wear suspenders with his tux. Is anyone else doing this or have pictures of what it might look like? Are men supposed to just wear suspenders then - no vest? This might be a selling point. TIA!!

FH was in a wedding where they wore suspenders and they had the vest. You couldn't actually see the suspenders so I'm pretty sure I don't have a pic.

I just found a pic courtesy of a 2008 LIW bride, let's see if I can post it - no vests worn here.

Oh YAY!!! That's great! Glad to hear I am not the only one. You should check out Sherlock Holmes, if you haven't already, I am obsessed with Robert Downey Jr, weird, I know.

if they take their vests off then you can see them... this was my sisters wedding... they all took their vests off walking in because they had custom tshirts on underneath with a pic of my BIL when he was a kid...

most of them left the vests off...

i dont have any good pics tho

Sherlock holmes was amazing which was no surprise! FH loves loves loves guy ritchie (the director). I thought every was awesome: the story, the acting, everything!

FILs thought I was crazy when i told them we are not doing vests. FH and I love the idea! Its much less common! I want to see Sherlock too!

I guess the vests are optional. FH is thinking that since it is late June, having no vest will keep him much cooler. I'm totally into it. I'm sure everyone will have something to say about it, however.

PS - I didn't realize Guy Ritchie directed SH until the very end!

i agree about no vests... im considering not doing vests either... just ties... i dont want tooo much orange on the guys... so we'll see...

and same here about Guy Ritchie... it wasnt till the credits that i knew...

i love the suspender idea, i think its so adorable. i had my heart set on vests because it will add some color to their tuxes. but it is july so i guess suspenders would be cooler. i think u should go 4 it!
