I budgetted for $25000. When I got engagned, I bumped it to $30000. NOw I am right by $40000

Over $31K unfortunately - we realized early in the game it wasnt going to happen with less - especially since we are inviting a lot of people.

We budgeted about $22k (without HM) and we are still on target with that $$. We are only inviting 110 so it wasn't that hard to keep the cost down.

We started adding up all that we spent for the heck of it, but STOPPED after we got to a certain number..It was alot higher than we had figured. It's pretty crazy how much we spent, but it's even better not knowing the EXACT amount lol

Soooo true! OUT OF CONTROL!! And it's only getting worse! My cousin got married on a $25k or budget 2 years ago and look now -- most of us are WAY over that!!

from church to honeymoon and every little think in between I am estimated at $26,000.
That includes EVERYTHING. I'll tell you when it's done if I kept to it.

Not that it's about the gifts- but we got less than half we shelled out for the entire wedding in gifts. HOWEVER- we also received almost everything off our registries- so really, we made out like bandits.

Unfortunaltely I'm over $30,000 too, and that doesn't include stuff that my parents have helped us out with.

We made this mistake once and after I put my heart back in my chest we never totalled the cost again.

I would say total (with HM) approx 35K. We were happy in the end. We ended up saving more than we needed so we used that as spending $$ in Hawaii. Between my dad's 'gift' my moms 'gift' and DHs moms 'gift' plus all of our generous guests gifts we only ended up spending a few thousand ourselves. We think of it as we paid for our trip (HM) ourselves and built up our savings account to boot We probably never would have saved all that money if it weren't for the wedding.
