Bad first impression w/ Duet

thought I would tell everyone my experience.

First I live in VA so I am only in NY on few occassions. (christmas is one of them).
I made a appointment a least a month in advanced w/ Duet for a Tuesday @ 10:00

I arrived at Duet @ 10:00 and the store was locked up. No one was there, we waited for 5 minutes and no one arrived. We called the phone number and spoke with one of the photographers that told me to wait 20 minutes or so and someone would be there.

( The funny thing is they sent me an email the day before confirming the date and time of our appointment)

We didn't, we left. I had made 4 appointments that day and was not going to be late waiting around for Duet.

Anyway who says they wouldn't be late to the wedding and ask me to wait for them to arrive.

I decided to go with another photographer.

This is not meant to bash them but I thought everyone should know.

I had the same thing happen only they were an hour late.

i booked with them coz my experiences with them had been great...

Im sorry that happened to you..Ive heard such great thinsg about them, thats upsetting! I never even made it to see them, I had a bad impression just over the phone..

wow! thats a shame. they were so accomodating for use when we went to look at them. they even stayed open during a blizzard last february for us. and we didnt book them! sorry that you had a bad experience.

you know, everything happens for a reason. Something may have happened to make them late, they should NOT have been late...but that doesnt make them bad photographers...just not the ones for you. We all make mistakes...doesn't make it right, but I think that you can look at ANY vendor and they will perform differently at different times. Which has a lot to do with fate, if you believe in that sorta thing. Ok, now I'm getting all philosophical. Point being...I am sure you will be thrilled with your choice of photographers. Congrats!

You had every right to leave.
I run a tight ship when it comes to timeliness.

I grew up with this saying:

To be early is to be on time.
To be on time is to be late
To be late is unacceptable.

You tell me you're going to be there, I expect you there. I don't mind waiting a few minutes but another 20? No way!

I'm sorry to hear about your negative experience. Still, I've heard great things about Duet, but they are just not for you.

Things happen, and people get held up sometimes. But I feel the same way about time and appointments, I would've done the same thing.

This was on Tuesday? I think something happened with them, because I had an appointment to go over albums with them on Tuesday night and Eric called to see if we could reschedule for another day. Sorry you had a bad experience, but, I'm sure you ended up with the right photographer for you!

I am really surprised. They went out of their way to accomodate us. I am sorry you had that experience.

Maybe you can mention it to them and they will compensate you? It might not be worth it to you at this point...but just in case...it's an idea. Maybe they will make it up to you somehow.....

im sorry they were late, but its funny because when we met with them it was the same thing- they were 15 minutes late for the appontment and we had to wait in our car for them in the middle of january. not a very good first impression

Thanks for everyone's options/comments . . . It is ironic that there are more than one or two that had this same experience. Well I decided to go with Lina Jang w/ Bliss Productions. She came to my FIL home to meet with me and was on time

I am not upset, just wanted to let people know the good and bad of eveyone.
