Re: Japanese hair straightening

I actually have done it a few times and my hair is as curly as it was in the begining. I was under the impression that it was going to be more or less a wash and go thing and that I wasn't going to have to do it with the dryer and round brush for 45 min. That wasnt the case with me. It was actually easier to dry but it still isnt pin straight. I came to the conclusion that I was meant to have curly hair and I will have to live with it.

i have done it 4 times already and love it!!. if you go to the right person you can just wash and go. i havent blow dried my hair in 2 years because of it. its the best thing i have ever done for myself. i know of atleast 20 people who have used the same hairstylist as me and all love the results. FM if you want more information

My girlfriend did it and is a changed person. She looks amazing and can also wash and go. She had hair before like Sara Jessica Parker. Now it is pin straight and never frizzes. She gets so many compliments on her hair and how shiny it is.

I did it and it was the best thing I ever did for myself also. I just wash it and go. I didn't have very curly hair- just wavy and THICK and it never blewdry as staight as when someone at a salon did it. I am so so happy I did. My hair looks so much healthier too. I don't think it damaged my hair but I think when it regrows- if you play with your hair like I do, it comes out easier. I know that sounds funny and it doens't come out in clumps but I think the strands are a little weaker.

I know you need to be careful... i can't do it to my hair because i get it colored

i know people that love it but after a couple of times your hair starts falling apart

it will never be the same

Re: Japanese hair straightening

I went to a small japanese place in Edison, NJ. It was cheap- about $300!

As someone said, I would do this over again in a second and plan on doing it. Although I hope my hair can withstand this!

Re: Japanese hair straightening

I heard that if you get your hair highlighted you can still do it as long as you wait either 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after highlighting. Where did you go, who did you use,how much did it cost and do you recommend the place?

Re: Japanese hair straightening

i get my hair highlighted and yes you have to wait the 2 weeks before or after. as for it ever falling out- the dont do the process over the same hair more than once. when you get it done again its only on the roots! this is why you need to go to a reliable person. i have used the same guy 4 times and love him. i personally know 20 people that have used him atleast 4 times each and their hair is great. look up kim sun young salon and ask from jason.
