My MOH highly recommends this place, they did her photography and video (and they did the most amazing job I've ever seen!). Anyone know how pricey they are???? They have to be up there! Anyone comprable. I'm really liking the vineyard caterers for my wedding, but concerned about the phone poles and wires and parking lot that can be seen from the 'aisle'. I want a photographer that will avoid getting that stuff in the pix.

Re: JoVon Photography
JoVon is pretty expensive...I'm not sure exactly how much though...I have a part time job where I do retouching for photography studios and I always remember my boss talking about that studio as being good but expensive....And if they ever do get anything in the pic that you don't want it can always be retouched so it will look like it was never there to begin with......BUT you need to talk to the photographer before hand and ask how much per picture and see if it can be worked into your contract.....b/c retouching can get expensive if it's alot of pictures.

Re: JoVon Photography
They are pricey, I don't remember how much their starting packages were, but we opted not to go with them. I have seen their work and it is great, but to be honest i was not too impressed with the albums that they showed us.
We are using fine art photography. A friend of ours used them and her pictures are great. We got a lot more for the money from them.

Re: JoVon Photography
They have a few complaints about them in the BBB, and they lost ALL the pictures from one of my friend's at works friend's wedding!! They had to 'recreate' the wedding afterwards to get some pictures. Perceptions is similar in style.

Re: JoVon Photography
Oooookay, so no Jovons for me! It's okay, I'd rather not spend millions...
I really liked the web site for Creative Compositions and will give them a call when the time comes. Anyone know what their charges are like - are they expensive? I'm on a budget! Any other REALLY GOOD photographers BRIDES can recommend?

Re: JoVon Photography
You are must better off with Creative Compositions than Jovon. CC is slightly more expensive but the customer service is a million times better.

Re: JoVon Photography
I just got my pictures back from JoVon. Yes, they are very expensive, and no, I'm not entirely happy with the proofs. My photographer was switched the week of the wedding because the one we chose had a family illness. To compensate, they gave me two head photographers...one more traditional, and one more photojournalistic. The traditional photographer took some beautiful posed shots, but had an attitude and could be quite obnoxious. I hated getting comments from my guests that, 'your photographer was really nasty,' etc. My complaint about his pictures is that we specifically requested table pictures and he missed a couple of tables and on a couple of other tables, there were important people (1st cousins) missing from the pictures. I found out that he was asked to wait by one table, until my 2 cousins returned from the bathroom, and he refused.
The other photographer, the more photojournalistic one, was much nicer, although I found her a bit strange. Some of her photos are beautiful, but she really didn't do that much in terms of photojournalism. There are a lot of black and whites of wedding guests, and she took the pictures of the desserts in black and white, which makes no sense! She took a few more 'artsy' pics, but I wasn't thrilled with how she composed the pics.
All in all, while we're still going to have a beautiful wedding album and have a difficult time narrowing the 701 pictures down to 50, I am somewhat disappointed.

Duet is great. I just booked them today. They did my friend's wedding and their work is beautiful. They have great photo/video packages and he throws in a lot of extra stuff for free.

Re: JoVon Photography
I am using Jovon and I can honestly say I have had no problems with them so far- the customer service has been good and there work is amazing- I would form your own opinion and just go meet them- I went to all the photographers everyone else is talking about CC, Fine Art and I also went to see sherwood triart- they all have great work- but I didnt like CC for the simple fact she asked me to leave a $ 500 deposit the first time I was there- no other photography requested this before-
Fine Art does have great work also- I have a girlfriend that who used them- the only thing I can say is out of all the places I went to Jovon was the only place you actually sat down with a photographer and not a sales person-

I recommend 12th night! He is such a nice guy and their work in wonderful! My mom is a professional photographer in FL and she thought he had the best work around! Plus the packages are affordable.

Re: JoVon Photography
I was supposed to have Ralph, whose work I loved, but b/c he had to cancel on us, we were assigned Hy as the main photographer and Beth for the more photojournalistic stuff.
